I'll Charge $2M. From Any Promoter Who Books Me As The Closing Act – Shatta Wale

Popular dancehall artist Shatta Wale issued a direct challenge to event promoters during a recent concert, stating he will charge $2 millions from any promoter who books him as the closing artiste

The declaration was made from the stage at the GTCO Music Concert at Accra Sports Stadium on December 19. The event, organized by Guaranty Trust Bank, featured numerous headline acts and ran into the early morning of December 20.

The Street Crown hit maker stated that any promoter who bills him as the closing act in the future must be prepared to pay at least two million US dollars. He explained that his loyal fans attend his shows mainly to see him and should not have to wait for hours, especially when managing other personal commitments.

"If they ever put me last again, I will charge that promoter $2 million," The self-acclaimed dancehall told the audience. "Nobody should waste my fans' time. You all have other things to do."

Throughout the latter half of 2025, Shatta Wale has frequently been the final act at major concerts, including Tidal Rave, Medikal's BYK Concert, and the recent GTCO event.

The GTCO Music Concert is noted for its high production value and community impact. This year's lineup featured a mix of Ghanaian and international artists, including Sarkodie, King Promise, R2Bees, Nigeria's Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, and Patoranking.

The artist's new policy highlights ongoing discussions within the entertainment industry regarding artist schedules, fan experience, and performance fees. But others assume it is due to the feud between him and Burna Boy.

It is believed that Shatta Wale and Burna Boy are not on Good terms. Since Wale has the audience in Ghana, he wants to perform before the Nigerian afrobeat star, knowing fully well that, at the end of his performance, all the fans will leave, leaving Burna to perform to a few audience members at the event.
