Ghanaian Rapper Medikal, in an interview on the Prime Time show, shares personal stories, addresses public perceptions, and builds anticipation for his major year-end concert.
The rapper also opened up about the birth of his second child, revealing the unique name "Space." He explained the choice, stating, "I want the child to go into an infinite world, that's why I named the baby Space."
His first child is named Island. Medikal fondly recalled Island's surprise stage appearance at a recent event, stating, "She wasn't supposed to come, but she refused to go home. She wasn't shy at all."
Medikal also addressed common misconceptions about his character. He acknowledged that some fans perceive him as rude but insisted his public and private selves are identical. "I like reality. I don’t fake anything," he said. "I don't know when to remove the Medikal jacket and replace it with Kwabena Adu. It’s the same person."
When questioned about lyrics that seem to flaunt wealth, the artist clarified that they are often artistic creations. "I don't show off. he added that some of the luxuries in my songs are just borrowed," he noted with comicness.
Reflecting on his career trajectory, Medikal emphasized raw talent as the foundation of success. "Talent is the prime source. Without talent, marketing won’t take you anywhere," he asserted.
Despite his achievements, he claims to have more loopholes to fill, which he believes will get him there at the right time.
